High School.

Community Christian School’s college preparatory curriculum exceeds the requirements for admission to any university in the country. Our college counselor works closely with students and parents as they set goals for the future and challenge themselves to high academic achievement. Students are encouraged to begin their scholarship portfolios from the time they enter high school. Students takes the PSAT assessment to monitor academic growth and scholarship eligibility through 11th grades.

Although public schools have taken a different approach, we still uphold the standard “4×4” approach, since our goal is for all of our students to move on to higher education. This means all students have four full years of English, mathematics, science, and social studies.

In addition, they take two years of a foreign language, a year of physical education, and obtain at least one fine arts credit. We also offer several types of technology courses. A college success class prepares students for the necessary college level testing and also teaches them study skills and research writing skills. We offer dual credit enrollment with Lamar State College-Orange.

All subjects are taught with a biblical worldview. We stress the importance of community service as a part of our ministry and discipleship. A requirement of graduation is a week-long mission trip within the continental United States to practice the art of ministering the gospel to others and standing firm in the biblical truth.

All students will graduate with a TEA recognized foundation diploma with either a STEM endorsement or a multi-disciplinary endorsement. They are well prepared to enter a four year university and be successful.
A large majority of our juniors and seniors take advantage of our partnership with Lamar State College – Orange to take dual credit courses. Students are allowed to take two classes per semester in their junior year, and three classes per semester in their senior year. The high school counselor works closely with the students and college personnel to insure success in the dual credit program. Many of our students enter college as a sophomore rather than a freshman. This is a tremendous savings of both money and time for our students.

Spiritual Development.

While academic achievement is important, we want students to leave our campus prepared to impact the world for Christ. Our Christ-centered community is a place where students can ask questions and be mentored by Bible-believing teachers, coaches, and staff. Seniors go through an extensive biblical worldview course and apologetics is a great emphasis as they prepare to take on the culture.
Students are also given opportunities throughout the year to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We emphasize all types of outreach and community service as important components of education. In the spring of their senior year, students take a weeklong mission trip as a culmination to their many years of training.

Enriching Activites.

A wide variety of special subjects and extracurricular activities make high school one of the most exciting times of life. As students move into upper grades, they may elect to take SAT/ACT prep courses. Many of our 11th and 12th grade students opt to take academic electives, such as extra math or science classes, in preparation for a specific college program. Our competitive athletic teams, fine arts programs, clubs, and service opportunities help students develop their gifts into lifelong passions. Students also go on a community-building retreat every year, where they make lasting memories and bonds.
