STUDENT LEADERSHIP
INSTITUTE

At Community Christian School in Orange, TX, we believe leadership is not just about influence — it’s about impact, integrity, and identity in Christ. That’s why we’ve established the Student Leadership Institute (SLI) — a transformative program designed to equip middle and high school students with the biblical foundation, practical skills, and servant-hearted mindset they need to lead with confidence in school, church, and life.

SLI is more than a title or a club — it’s a discipleship-driven experience that challenges students to grow as intentional leaders who model Christlike character in their words, actions, and decisions. Whether they are leading a chapel service, mentoring a younger student, or representing CCS at a community event, participants in SLI are learning what it means to lead by serving others and listening to God’s call.

Mission & Purpose

The mission of the Student Leadership Institute is to develop young men and women into godly leaders who are bold in their faith, wise in their choices, and ready to influence the world around them. Students are trained to lead with humility, communicate with clarity, and step forward in responsibility — always rooted in Scripture and guided by the Holy Spirit.

Through a carefully designed curriculum, SLI teaches leadership principles based on:

  • Biblical character traits (integrity, humility, courage)

  • Personal responsibility and time management

  • Public speaking and effective communication

  • Conflict resolution and decision-making

  • Teamwork and peer mentorship

  • Servant leadership modeled after Jesus Christ

How It Works

SLI is open to eligible students in grades 7–12 who demonstrate a desire to grow spiritually and serve faithfully. Students are selected through an application and interview process that includes recommendations from teachers and staff. Once accepted, students participate in regular leadership sessions, community service projects, peer mentorship, and special events.

Each semester, students meet to learn and reflect on leadership themes through Scripture, discussion, and real-life application. Sessions may include guest speakers, role-play activities, chapel involvement, and service opportunities both on and off campus. SLI teams volunteer over 2,000 hours each year in organizations such as Samaritan’s Purse, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Southeast Texas Foodbank, Orange Christian Services.
